Remy "Gambit" LeBeauGender:
Six-Hundred and Fifty-Five, Appears mid 20s-30sPersonality:
Remy, out side of battle, is calm; almost uncaring in his demeanor. I should note that uncaring isn't that he does not care at all; rather it means that he does not let a lot bother him. He would rather sit down to a good game of cards then let most things bother him. But, he is slightly a ladies man as he was even as a human; a trait sadly carried with him after death. This does carry over into his fights; for if he sees a female in trouble he has been known to barge in without thinking much to rescue them. Remy does uphold the ideals of the Gotei 13, but in contrast to the his contemporaries on the -13(as he likes to call it) He has been known to 'adjust' laws to situations as needed. Not that Remy breaks them mind you, but If the situation warrants it he will bend rules.
While in battle, Remy does like to insert gambling phrases into his taunts while he is fighting. His personality changes slightly during battle though he does carry his non-chalant attitude with him. He tends to become very cold, though, if he sees someone hurting another women. He is also very calculating as he fights, though he does tend to like to blow things up during his fights. He holds up his ideals and his honor very seriously. As Remy has spent a lot of time in the human world on missions for the third division Remy has picked up the the mannerisms of the one place that he has spent a lot of time in. The area around and in the city of New Orleans. With that came a slight change in the way that he talks but as well as a change in the way he thinks. Not to mention he tends to get pissed off easily at times. Though he has been learning to control his anger....AppearanceAppearance:
His hair is brown, and slightly long at that. Even though its slightly long; his hair is worn up but slightly combed over to one side. This gives it the appearance that it comes off his head at an angle. His eyes would be his most predominate feature; being that they have a black sclera and red iris.
While in Soul Society Remy wears the normal attire, that being the base black shinigami outfit. Over top of this Remy wears a long brown leather trench coat though. As well on his hands Remy wears gloves that he has removed the thumb, pointer finger, and pinkie of; leaving only the two middle fingers covered. Remy, on his feet, wears a pair of black military style boots.
For his Gigai, Remy wears a suit of highly articulated light body armor this being a reference to his years spent in the human world as an intelligence officer in the third division. The armor is a memoir to one of his favorite guises that he uses; that as a professional thief. A notable feature of his armor would be that the top piece is a dull red in color but the areas that cover his arms and upper thighs is black. The areas covering his shins are more shiny in color almost like a painted aluminum. Worn over this is normally a brown leather trench coat. Remy, On his hands, wears gloves that he has removed the thumb, pointer finger, and pinkie of; leaving only the two middle fingers covered. The gloves are black in color. The only other piece of clothing that Remy wears is a head piece that covers most of his face. Remy keeps the boots as well for his gigai.Height:
147 lbsEye Color:
Name: Kisake (The Queen)
The Queen has a very interesting approach to dealing with Remy. She sees him as her knight, and therefore treats him like a servant of sorts. Her treatment of him is like that of a loyal guard. She gives him her power willingly, in exchange for making him promise not to die. Him dying would be killing her, and therefore not acting as a protector like a knight should. The Queen does not interfere in Remy's personal goals, she simply wants him safe, so she can be safe.Zanpakutô Realm:
Ever been to Vegas? Gambit's inner world resembles the inside of a casino Las Vegas style! The front area relatively large encompassing many variety's of slot machines and video poker machines. If one looks around you would even spot some roulette tables hiding here and there. A bar is tucked off to one side with a dining area set behind it; for the casino goers that get hungry during the day and/or night. The main attractions, though, are the Blackjack, and poker tables. This is where Queen is normally found at the Blackjack tables though Remy prefers Poker himself.
Behind the casino area, found by going through a back door, is the Training room for Queen and Remy. when one first enters through the door the first thing that you would see is the boxing/mixed martial arts ring in the center of the room. On one side of it is a weight training area. Included here are free weights as well as a bar for bench pressing, and other weight machines for working various muscle groups. behind the ring and continuing around the right side, are various bags for punching as well as practice dummies. This is where Queen takes Remy when She feels he needs more training in some aspect of his fighting style.Sealed Zanpakutô :
Gambit's Sealed sword is approximately 3 and a half feet long. It is a straight sword unlike most samurai swords which are slightly curved. It is not steel in appearance rather it has a dark blue hue to it; being almost black in color. The hilt is made from Bamboo and painted black. This is then covered in a wrap made from cloth; which is also dyed black. This gives the over all sword a very dark look to it.
Remy wears it on his back, in a sheath, similar to how ninjas would wear their swords. The sheath is worn on his back at an angle that puts the handle of his sword right above his right shoulder; with the bottom of the sheath in the bottom left of his back sticking out slightly. Overall the sheath is black in color, but with a red length of cloth ribbon that is used to tie the sheath around Remy. The sheath does have a weight at the bottom of it in order to aid in the drawing of the sword. (If it wasn't there the sheath would pick up whenever the sword was drawn from that position.)Shikai Description:
The sword, which is held horizontally for the release, extends out to approximately 1.8 meters in length; and turns into a Bo-staff. Unlike typical Bo staffs though it is made from metal and not wood giving it better qualities against sword based weapons. It retains the dark blue hue as its color, like the blade of his sword. It lacks any markings on the staff, save for a leather hand grip in the middle.
The sheath is still worn diagonally on his back; though with his sword release it changes from black to red, and the cloth strap changes to black in color. With the color change, though, Japanese characters are revealed on the side. They read, "Luck be with me" as a homage to Remy's luck given to him from the Queen.Shikai Abilities: Kaado Surou ("Card Throw")
: When the staff is swung in an arc in front of Remy; 3 objects, resembling playing cards, are released from the end of the staff. This arc can be made in any direction as long as it is in front of Remy, (ex. vertically, horizontally, diagonally) These are not real cards, per say, but rather pure reaitsu energy. They fly out approximately 60ft from Remy and explode. However, if they hit any object before that distance they will explode upon impact. This is a very concussive explosion, anybody getting hit by it full force will most likely find themselves suffering some sort of internal trauma from the shock wave at close range. Anyone near by will most likely suffer temporary confusion. (think flash-bang) As the loud noise disrupts the workings of the internal ear. Effects last about 1-2 posts depending on the person. Remy, to some extent, can control their direction (similar to how Ishida controls his arrows, but not as effectively). He also has the ability to summon cards out of his reiatsu and into his hand, throwing them individually, or rapid fire. He also can control them telepathically.Denka ("Charge"):
Remy charges his staff with reaitsu as an added defense against weapons or, if he slams either end of his staff on the ground, to cause an explosion on the ground meant to blow people or objects backward. This explosion ripples outward from the end of the staff though the area effected is only near the ground at first with it expanding upward and outward. In such, Remy is seemingly unaffected by the explosion where in effect he is outside the initial blast radius. He can also charge his reiatsu into any object that he can pick up with one hand. When he throws said object, it has the same effect as the cards.Release:
Charge, KisakeBankai Description:
The bo-staff is gone, in its place are two smaller staffs that Remy can spawn into his hands. They are made of his own reiatsu.Bankai Abilities:
In bankai, Charge and Card Throw are still useable, but to greater potency. Remy can throw cards faster, the explosions are more potent, and their effects last thrice as long.
In Bankai, Remy's enhanced reiatsu control also grants him superhuman agility and dexterity, as well as creating a static interference that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by most telepathsKyuusoku na Kado ("Rapid Cards"):
Remy can point the ends of both reiatsu-staffs at his opponent. The ends will glow with reiatsu before firing a rapid barrage of his explosive cards. Anywhere he points the staffs, the cards follow. They are twice as explosive as the cards used in Card Throw, and they can go twice as far, too.BackgroundHistory/Background:
Remy LeBeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was referred to in his child hood "Le diable blanc" ("The white devil") because of a defect in his eyes that he had been born with. Remy was placed in the care of a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery. After living as an orphan on the streets for many years nothing looked like it was ever going to change for Remy.
Remy's abilities manifested early in his teens, although he kept his powers secret from his family and friends, practicing his powers away from prying eyes. Remy tried to help the spirits he saw from time to time but he quickly found out that some did not want to be helped. One particular incident in fact led to him be thrown out of his family and being exiled from New Orleans.
After his exile from New Orleans, he wandered the world and became a master professional thief, making many contacts (and quite a few enemies). During this time as well he spent a lot of time in France where he learned and perfected his training in Savate. On one particular mission Remy found out the hard way about hollows. Remy did manage to stop the hollow, but sadly he was injured grievously. With as far as he was from civilization; Remy ended up dieing from the injuries he received from the battle before he could return back to civilization.
The next thing that Remy remembers is waking up. At first Remy thought that he had somehow managed to make it back to the city and got to a hospital. Till, that was, he looked down and saw his body staring back up at him. Remy was a little startled at seeing himself lying there, but was more upset at not finding the remains of whatever he had been fighting. Remy noticed a person approaching him. Remy inquired of the person if they had seen whatever happened to the thing that he had been fighting. The person, a shinigami, explained to Remy what had happened. With that the figure raised its sword and told Remy that he was going to help Remy move on. All Remy had time for was to nod before the butt off the sword hit his forehead implanting a seal there.
Remy woke soon there after. At first he had no idea who he was, but he managed to make a living in the Rukongai as a thief of sorts. Eventually Remy turned to the academy to train to become a shinigami. With numerous missions under his belt after joining the divisions. Its no wonder that Remy began to spend a lot of time back down in the human world.
His academy life showed some interesting grades. While he was good at swordplay and amazing at Kido, his speed was average. His hand-to-hand combat skill was his worst overall, he was assigned special instruction twice on the topic.
Soon thereafter, came graduation. Remy was assigned to squad 5 seat 10. Remy had only been with the squad a few months when the attack on Heuco Mundo took place. So, though his missions may have faded into obscurity Remy's life has been interesting none the less.
A few years later, Remy discovered shikai through unusual means. "The Queen", his zanpakuto spirit, came to him in his sleep, granting him the first release with the promise that more was to come. Remy trained impossibly hard with his shikai until he had mastered it, moving up the ranks to fifth seat, and then third.
It took him almost a decade, but he finally learned how to materialize his zanpakuto spirit. The Queen greeted him kindly, and asked him if he wanted more power, to which Remy answered yes. This started a two-month long session of "trials" that The Queen had prepared. Much like the trials of knighthood, they consisted of tests of strength, speed, agility, loyalty, etc. After the two months, The Queen granted Remy Bankai, assuring his increase in power.Extra Abilites: Kido Master
: Remy is proficient, if not a master, in the usage of kido. His control over his spiritual energy leads to his kido being more potent than your average shinigami'sRoleplay Sample:
