Central 46 Compound The Central 46 Chambers Compound is a highly restricted area in the Seireitei in Soul Society. Most of the building is underground, with only a small portion visible from the surface. In the anime, it was depicted as a circular building in the center of a body of water, surrounded by a wall with a single gateway. Access to the main building was via a bridge. It houses the Central 46, the central government of Soul Society. The Central 46 rules Soul Society on behalf of the Spirit King. They make all of Soul Society's laws and try those who are charged with breaking them, whether the crime was committed in Soul Society or in the Human World. Following the massacre of the Central 46 at the hands of Sōsuke Aizen during the Soul Society arc, and Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto subsequently taking over their normal duties, the compound has lost much of its former status as one of the most important places in Seireitei. Onmitsukidō The Onmitsukidō is a special strike unit under the command of the Central 46 Chambers. It is divided into five units, each of which has its own special duties to carry out. These duties range from relaying information to patrol, discipline and assassination. If the Gotei 13 are considered an exterior guard, then the Onmitsukidō is an interior, covert guard. Originally a separate branch of Soul Society's army, the Onmitsukidō was traditionally tied to the Shihōin family. When the Commander-in-Chief would gain a title within the Gotei 13, the Onmitsukidō would become attached to that division as well. The Special Forces is generally commanded by a member of the noble family Shihōin, though the last member to hold this position was Yoruichi Shihōin before she departed Soul Society around 100 years before the main story line. Kidō Corps The Kidō Corps (鬼道衆, Kidōshū) is a separate branch of Soul Society's military that excels in the art of Kidō. It takes students from the Shinigami Academy that excel in Kidō and trains them to further their abilities in said area. Its operations are executed in absolute secrecy, little else is known. During an incident one hundred years ago Jūshirō Ukitake noted how rare it was to see anyone from the Kidō Corps, especially the captain. Moderators: Moderators, Global Moderators	0	0
Gotei 13 The Gotei 13 is the organization which most Shinigami join. It is split into thirteen divisions (hence the name), with several divisions having certain specializations. The 4th Division is the medical/supply division, the 11th Division is the combat division (specialization in swordsmanship), and the 12th Division is the research/scientific division. The 9th Division is in charge of newspaper and magazine-related duties. It's unclear if the other divisions are specialized, as the four above are the only ones who receive any significant attention apart from their members. Additionally, it should be noted that Soifon is in charge of both the 2nd Division and the Onmitsukidō. The Gotei 13 somewhat seems to have superiority and little authority over the two branches (i.e., Soifon, the Commander-in-Chief of the Onmitsukidō and Tessai Tsukabishi, the former Grand Kidō Chief).
